Total worldwide IT spending is predicted to hit £2.9tn in 2019, representing an increase of 3.2 per cent on 2018’s number according to Gartner’s latest forecast. The analyst predicts that enterprise software will witness the largest growth with an 8.3 per cent increase in 2019.

Cloud software is expected to see growth of more than 22 per cent, compared to 6 per cent for all other forms of software. Security and privacy will also remain top of minds to organisations faced with increased cybersecurity issues.

Gartner also believes that vendors will push PC-as-a-Service to compensate for subtle technology differentiation in order to secure recurring revenue streams and to promote bundled service options.
