25th February 2021 Exertis supports LGBTQ+ History Month with exclusive webinar

Part of ongoing commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace

Basingstoke, UK, 25th February 2021: Exertis, a global leader in technology distribution, is supporting LGBTQ+ History Month by hosting an exclusive webinar for its employees today, featuring guest speaker Natasha Devon MBE. This is part of Exertis’ commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse culture, and an opportunity to celebrate previously marginalised voices.

Today (Thursday 25th February), the business will welcome the writer, activist and LBC presenter Natasha Devon, MBE, to speak to its employees about the benefits of creating an inclusive workplace. The discussion will also cover how unconscious bias can manifest itself in day to day interactions and will provide education and myth-busting surrounding the LGBTQ+ experience.

Natasha Devon MBE is a writer, presenter and activist. She tours schools, universities, and events throughout the UK and beyond, delivering talks as well as conducting research on mental health, body image, gender & equality. Natasha also presents on LBC 7-9pm every Saturday. Natasha is a trustee for the charity Student Minds and a patron for No Panic, which helps people experiencing anxiety. She is a member of the Men & Boys Coalition, specifically advising on reducing male suicide rates, as well as a certified instructor for Mental Health First Aid England and the eating disorder charity, Beat.

In 2018, Natasha co-founded ‘Where’s Your Head At,’ a campaign aimed at improving the mental health of British workers through education and law change. She is also founder of the Mental Health Media Charter, which scrutinises media reporting on mental health with the aim of reducing stigma.

Jo Lawrence, HR Director, Exertis UK, says, “Having diverse teams attracts talent and helps us to be representative of the needs of our diverse customer base. I care passionately about Exertis being a place where everyone can be their true self and where everyone feels valued, included and celebrated. We’re really looking forward to welcoming Natasha as part of LGBTQ+ History Month.”

“While also fundamentally being the right thing to do, we care about diversity and inclusivity at Exertis because we want all our colleagues to be able to bring their whole selves to work, to have a positive sense of  well-being and to be fully engaged.”
