How our top vendors are doing their bit to be more sustainable every day

At Exertis, we believe in sustainability. We believe in doing our bit to make sure our planet stays cleaner, greener, and healthy for generations to come. And it’s important to us that our top vendors have this goal in mind, too. That’s why we’re exploring the way our industry’s key players are making more sustainable choices while delivering the technology that keeps the world moving.

Dell

Dell’s Progress Made Real campaign focuses on using more sustainable materials in the manufacture of their innovative device ranges and packaging. By 2030, Dell expect their operational emissions to be less than a third of what they were in 2010, to be sourcing 75% of electricity from renewable sources, recycling and reusing more products, and increasing the use of recycled or renewable material for both products and packaging.
With sustainably-designed products like the Precision 3560 and the Latitude 5320, Dell are making positive choices that benefit their customers and our planet.

Lenovo

For the past 10 years, Lenovo have been paying attention to climate change, and how they can reduce their impact on it. One way of achieving this is through measuring, analysing, and disclosing their efforts to reduce the amount of GHG produced within the company. Lenovo’s structured approach is applied to their entire supply chain, and includes a climate an energy policy, a climate change strategy, and Science Based Targets initiative approved climate change objectives and targets.
Lenovo’s main goal is to create strategies that drive improvement, and to continuously work towards reducing their GHG emissions and carbon footprint

Lexmark

As a sustainably responsible company, Lexmark aim to minimise their impact on the environment, work with environmentally focused partners, communicate their sustainability focus to others, and reduce waste and recycle efficiently. Lexmark are focusing on using more sustainable materials within their products, increasing the longevity of devices to reduce replacements, and designing products sustainably.

CHERRY

Across their product range, CHERRY have worked to ensure they’re making sustainable and eco-conscious decisions. Their STREAM DESKTOP RECHARGE wireless keyboard and mouse features a rechargeable battery that boosts the longevity of the product. Meaning replacements happen less frequently, leading to a reduction in emissions from production, delivery and disposal. And the packaging is completely plastic-free so it can be properly recycled.

Brother

Through their innovative technology solutions, Brother’s customers and partners are given a helping hand through transforming their operations to be more conscious and sustainable. Their partnerships with Cool Earth and Tameside Greenspace, along with their own community initiatives, work to support environmental, economic, and social sustainability beyond their product range.

OKI

OKI believe in driving an improved quality of life for people worldwide through driving sustainability. As a member of the United Nations Global Compact, OKI work towards offering social, environmental, and governance initiatives that represent their values. OKI’s three main goals in providing environmental sustainability are to reduce power consumption, conform to regulations surrounding chemical substances, and resource conservation.

Philips

In a move towards a more sustainable product offering, Philips have added green monitors to their range. These monitors feature innovative, ecologically-friendly technology that boost energy efficiency. With fully recyclable packaging, compliance with environmental standards, and freedom from harmful substances, customers know that they’re making a sustainable choice when they buy a Philips LCD monitor.

APC

APC’s aim is to create a sustainable future for their customers, partners, and the planet. Their biggest tool in this quest is their Green Premium eco mark, which allows APC to disclose extensive and reliable information about the environmental impact of their products. This helps customers to calculate their carbon footprint, and allows APC to optimise their range to be more sustainable. At Exertis, we believe in holding ourselves and our vendors accountable for our impact on the environment. And making sure we work together to make changes that allow us to produce more planet-friendly technology, while giving customers the freedom to make informed choices about the products they buy and use.
