4th August 2021 Kelly Maynard has been appointed as the new UC Business Manager for Exertis UK

After 11 years with the business, and 22 years experience in the Unified Communications industry, Kelly Maynard has been appointed as the new UC Business Manager for Exertis UK.

We caught up with Kelly to find out more about her role, the UC marketplace and what has been the highlight of her year so far.

How long have you been at Exertis? – I started working at Exertis on 4th January 2010.

What channel / tech experience did you have prior to your role at Exertis? – I have been working in the Unified Communications industry since 1999, where I started as Assistant Buyer for one of the leading telecommunications distributors at the time, Rocom. Since then I have spent my working career in UC Distribution. My direct skills prior to starting at Exertis was Samsung UC solutions which was a complex product including hardware, applications, licensing, the full solution; however I have sold structures cabling, telephony, call recording, contact centre soluttions, peripherals and more recently wearables (Poly headsets).

What is the most exciting thing about the UC? – UC is an ever evolving market place/channel where the technology never stands still and you learn something new on a regular basis. I have seen the shift towards IP telephony and the adoption of SIP technology throughout the channel. I also like the fact that the solutions we deliver have a direct positive impact on both business and individuals lives.

What’s an interesting fact about you? – When I left school my career aspirations were to be a Police woman, however I attended a murder trial hearing as part of my work experience and I realised it wasn’t for me.

What’s been your highlight of 2021 so far? – I have a new little furry friend that has joined the household, in the form of a Pomeranian cross called Reggie. He keeps me in tow.

Do you have a hobby? – I have a national trust membership which works nicely now I have Reggie. I am a keen walker and love the country side being a country girl. I like to keep my hands dirty with gardening and DIY.

What have you been enjoying doing now that lockdown restrictions are easing? – I think like everyone I have taken for granted all to of the things that have been taken away from us in the last year. Having a cocktail, catching up face to face and hugging family and friends have been my top priorities.
